The King of Clay will look to deal out another dominant hand against the Swedish player Robin Soderling, only this time it would be on grass. Rafa defeated Soderling on the clay courts of the French Open earlier this year to regain his title and crown. He pummeled the world number six, winning in straight sets 6-4, 6-2, 6-4. Overall, Rafa holds a 4-2 record against Soderling. "... gonna be a really tough match. I think probably is one of the more difficult opponents that you can play on all surfaces today, but especially here. I think he's playing with big confidence, big serve, perfect flat shots and long from the baseline. So he's playing great. Gonna be very difficult match for me I think. Hopefully for him, too," Rafa said about the upcoming match versus Soderling. Soderling also said the quarterfinal match will be challenging. "... it's gonna be an extremely tough match. He's world No. 1. We played a lot of times and had a lot of tough matches. Again, it's a quarterfinals in a Grand Slam. It's gonna be tough for sure. But, you know, I think it's definitely easier to play him on any other surface than clay," Soderling said. The pair did meet one time on the grass courts of Wimbledon in 2007 during the round of 32. Soderling forced Rafa into a five setter. The match stretched on for three days because of rain delays, but Rafa emerged victorious, claiming the match 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(7), 4-6, 7-5.
