Is Roger Federer in Fact the Best Player of All Time?
This question is posed every time I watch a tennis match on TV involving Roger Federer and some pundits are willing to award this title of best player of all time to Federer.
We all can understand that the press will have to be positive and cater to the ATP, the tournament directors and the sponsors to get their free passes. Nevertheless, with this kind of comments and write ups, they do a great disservice to their audiences and the sport of tennis, because they neither respect the record nor the great past performances from players such as; Rod Laver, Jimmy Connors, Björn Borg, Ivan Lendl, Pete Sampras, therefore totally ignoring history.
Recently at the Australian Open final press conference, Roger Federer admitted the genius tag sits comfortably with him.now;
"I mean, look, I guess I'm the best tennis player in the world," Federer said when asked how he reacts to the word genius being used to describe him and his sublime game.
"You can call me a genius because I'm outplaying many of my opponents, kind of maybe playing a bit different, you know, winning when I'm not playing my best. All of that maybe means a little bit of that. So it's nice."
Well what happened to humbleness in victory and in sports? That is another question for another article. The aim of this article is to put the question "Is Roger Federer in fact the best player of all time?", to rest. I could argue that any expert in the world; TV commentators, coaches, and others, would easily agree that, in tennis the younger you are, the harder it is to win against older opponents. Also younger players who have won major Grand Slam tournaments in any era, were true prodigies and perhaps since the word is so loosely applied these days you can call them even geniuses, if you will.
Following such guideline, and then looking at the record versus age the best player of all time is:
1- Björn Borg (SWE) Birthdate: 6-Jun-56
Between the ages of 17 and 25 years and 4 months old Björn Borg won (61) Singles Career Titles!
Roger Federer between the ages of 17 and 25 years and 4 months old won (45) Singles Career Titles, 16 less titles then Borg won!
Borg, won 6 Major Grand Slam titles at Roland Garros on clay 5 of them consecutive and 6 titles at Wimbledon on grass, 5 of them consecutive.
Roger Federer has won 0 Roland Garros and 4 Wimbledons, 2 Australian Opens, 3 US Opens.
Borg at 17 years old was finalist in 4 ATP events 1973--Buenos Aires, Monte Carlo, San Francisco, Stockholm!
Roger Federer at 17 years old in 1998- reached Toulouse quarter finals.
1 (Ex-aequo) - Rod Laver (AUS) Birthdate: 9-Aug-38
At 24 to 25 years old Rod Laver in 1962 won all four of tennis' Grand Slam singles titles in the same year the Australian Open - French Open - Wimbledon - US Open. At the end of 1962 to1968 when Rod Laver was at his prime, he was forbidden to play any Grand Slam tournaments because he turned professional.
Rod Laver is the only player in tennis history to have won twice All four of tennis' Grand Slam singles titles in the same year (Australian Open - French Open - Wimbledon - US Open) --first as an amateur in 1962, and then again as a professional in 1969.
Roger Federer (SUI) Birthdate: 8-Aug-81
Roger for example at age 25 years has not once won all 4 Grand Slams titles in a single calendar year!
Rod Laver has won (39) professional Singles Career Titles starting at age 30 years old (1968)!
If the press can call what Roger Federer is doing today "genius", I do not know what they would have called Rod Laver winning all 4 Grand Slam titles Australian Open - French Open - Wimbledon - US Open in a single year at age 31 years old!
Anyway, for me and I hope for you too, with all my respect, the question and speculation of who is or who was the best player of all time is answered. Until someone younger then Bjorn Borg achieves a better record, Björn Borg is the best player of all times! This does not mean that I vouch for Borg's tennis game, which I did not like at all, but his record for a young athlete and for any athlete of any age is absolutely awesome and unrivaled by his peers or any one player of our times!
Was Borg a genius? No, he was just an excellent tennis player!
Stay tuned in my next article, I will let you know why Roger Federer is winning so easily today and how.
Play the game with no fear!
Sérgio Cruz
P.S.- If you compare the players below Roger Federer, I suppose you could call them geniuses as well!

ATP Energy - What Does ATP Have to Do With Supplements?
Adenosine triphosphate is a nucleotide which is of vital importance to nearly every system of the body. This material is used as a form of energy currency by cells. It is one of the most broadly used instruments of cellular activity. For this reason, many dietary supplements promote themselves based on the ability to increase the production of ATP.
It is important for consumers of dietary supplements to understand this cellular process. Since ATP is involved in nearly every activity of the body, it is useful to consider how supplements might affect its production. After understanding how this process works, consumers might choose to purchase supplements that improve ATP production and metabolism.
What Is ATP?
Adenosine triphosphate is the natural biology of cellular energy. It is created during cellular respiration. It is used by the body for a vast array of different purposes. It provides energy to cells and transports other materials throughout the body. Proper ATP production will have an effect on every aspect of all of the body's processes.
Glycolysis is the process where food is metabolized into cellular energy. ATP is created during glycolysis. The electron transport chain also contributes to the creation of ATP. This allows energy from sunlight and the oxidization of sugars to be used as a type of cellular fuel. Your body uses ATP to energize other cells, transport small molecular material, or create entirely new molecules. Most of the body's processes fall into one of those categories on a cellular level.
Why is ATP Energy Important?
ATP is fuel for cells. It is consumed by a variety of different processes. Once it is spent, it reverts back to adenosine diphosphate and adenosine monophosphate. These are the components that originally make up ATP. Your body actually consumes its entire Weight in ATP every day. Living organisms constantly recycle this material for use by other cells. ATP energy is the fuel for life. And 'the material that behaves very much the actions of all living cells. If you consider what is used by all living things, is truly one of the world's major energy sources.
Nutritional influence decisions such as the production of ATP?
ATP is produced by metabolizing foodpresence of proper oxygen. There are an assortment of ways that your nutritional choices can affect the level of oxygen in the body. These levels can determine the type of food cells that your body will convert into ATP. Carbohydrates are the optimal choice. Carbohydrates can be converted into glucose very easily. Your body might also choose to do this with fats or proteins.
These sources are less desirable. Your dietary balance will influence the way that your body chooses to Process and create this nucleotide. A proper balance will help you more energy from food. Less efficient means of production includes the creation of more waste products. These wastes may cause health problems over a longer time window. Some types of waste are created in the metabolism of foods, may take the form of toxic substances that damage occurs to your body.
In Conclusion
Since ATP production provides a coin fuel that is used by everyprocess in the body, it is important to consider this in your dietary plan. There are a lot of supplements that are engineered with this particular concern in mind. Essentially, supplements that are aimed at regulating or improving ATP production will help promote cellular health. Healthy cell production can have far-reaching consequences for your body's constitution. Orthomolecular supplements can be the difference in ATP energy or not.
While energy efficiency is a critical for engineers to create technologies, is also crucial for the biological machine. Your body is designed to use some fuel to power its many functions. Clean energy efficient and can achieve more with less material. If you count your eating habits, consumption of energy inefficient, there will be accumulation of toxins.
When one considers the positive and negative effects that different food choices may inATP production is essential that your diet optimized nucleotide are important for the proper use of them. cellular health is very important. The whole body depends on tiny components.

Laser Weapons in the Military
Laser weapons used to belong only to the realm of science fiction with Starwars being the most classic example. Recently due to improvements in laser technology, the possibility of real laser weapons is becoming more and more real. The question no is not do laser weapons exist, the question is how advanced, widespread and in what form are current laser weapons.
International laws for laser weapons
In 1995 the Conventional Weapons Convention in Vienna banned the use of laser weaponry on the battlefield that were "specifically designed, as their sole combat function or as one of their combat functions, to cause permanent blindness to unenhanced vision". Due to a loop hole this ban hampered but did not stop the development of laser weapons the leading developer, the US military.
Current Developments
In 2002 the U.S. Special Operations Command handed a contract to Boeing to develop an Advanced Tactical Laser (ATP) that was to be airborne and used for ultra precision strike missions. The laser itself is a closed-cycle, chemical oxygen-iodine laser (COIL). Based on the 1995 ban, this laser is not designed to cause blindness. It is much easier to blind a person driving a vehicle than to immobilize the vehicle itself so it remains to be seen what the actual purpose of the ATP is.
In another laser weapon development, the US Department of Defense (DOD) awarded Northrop Grumman the Joint High-Powered Solid State Laser (JHPSSL) project. The objective of this project is to produce a 100kW laser that can destroy rockets, mortars and artillery. The US airforce also added precision strike as one of the projects objectives. Northrop Grumman says the project is on schedule and they will reach the 100kW goal by the end of 2008.
Not to be outdone by the airforce, the US army has awarded Boeing a 36 million dollar contract to develop a truck mounted laser cannon known as the High Energy Laser Technology Demonstrator (HELTD). Once again the purpose of this laser weapon is to shoot down rockets and artillery shells but the HELTD would also be very effective at blinding enemy combatants.
The US is far from the only country seeking to develop or use laser weapons. Earlier this year the Canadian military drew harsh criticism over a $10 million laser weapon acquisition project. Those laser weapons are portable lasers that are designed to "temporary blind" people at 50 to 500 meters. This purchase is controversial because it is seen as violating the 1995 ban. This project is presently awaiting approval from Defence Minister Peter MacKa.
On a more peaceful and positive note, Dedicated Systems in Australia has developed a Airborne Laser Mine Detection System (ALMDS). This system works by using an airborne light detection and ranging blue-green lasers to detect, localize and classify mines over a large area of the ocean.
Outcome
Laser weapons are widespread and range in form from large aircraft and vehicle mounted to mobile and hand held. At present the smaller more mobile dazzling (blinding) type laser weapons are already deployed and the larger more powerful lasers should start becoming operational with in a year.

Flow Injection Or Segmented Flow Analysis - What Are the Similarities and Differences?
The reason to use SFA or FIA
The reason to automate is so that you can run more samples. Running more samples is the same as increasing your productivity. Having an instrument run samples for you decreases your labor costs. Having the instrument do all those boring mixings and shakings increases your day to day precision. This improves quality and really helps with that QA/QC program. Whether you are a research facility, a municipal laboratory, or a commercial lab, you can benefit from automation.
Almost any method that can be done manually can be automated. Time consuming steps such as manual titrations can be replaced using instrumentation. Instruments can do digestions, distillations, dilutions, and filtrations all for you. More importantly, is that these methods are always duplicated exactly ensuring that quality control procedures are met.
Your most expensive cost is labor, and after that is supplies. A flow analyzer will allow you to do more samples in less time and increase the amount of time you or your staff spends on more important things like running other samples, reporting results, and doing that dreaded paper work. Automated equipment uses less reagents and generates less waste than manual methods do. This is not about getting rid of staff. This is about freeing up time so that staff can have time to prepare and run more samples. The beauty of the auto analyzer is that it is running samples while you are doing something else.
History of Flow Analysis
The original automated analyzer is the Auto Analyzer invented by Leonard Skeggs in 1954. It took the Technicon Corporation three years to perfect it and develop a commercial product. The concept of auto-analysis eventually branched out and has roots in almost every automated device we see today. Flow Injection Analysis was a way to get out of buying a Technicon Auto-Analyzer because a person with a peristaltic pump, some Teflon tubing, and a flow through spectrometer cell could fabricate their own device. In fact, the first FIA instruments were held together with Lego blocks. The first commercial FIA instrument was introduced by Tecator, the analytical branch of Perstorp.
All continuous flow analyzers share a commonality of parts with similar functions. All have an autosampler, pumps, reagent mixing manifolds comprised of tubing, a flow through detector, and a way to collect the signal. The signal is always expressed as a peak with a maximum and a baseline, and the peak is either bell shaped, or rectangular.
Segmented Flow Analysis (SFA)
Segmented Flow analysis is the first auto chemistry and is what Skeggs initially demonstrated to the Technicon corporation. Segmented flow enjoys over 50 years of success as a proven technology. Segmented flow is the basis of multiple automated EPA and many other regulatory methods.
A typical segmented flow analyzer pumps the sample into the cartridge using peristaltic pump tubing. The sample merges with an air segmented carrier stream, reagents are added and mixing occurs by end over end mixing in coils as the sample is transported down the path of the tubing. Depending on the internal tubing volume and the amount of time the transport from injection to detection takes there could be multiple samples inside the tubing at a given time. For instance, if the delay time is 10 minutes and samples are injected every minute there will be 10 samples traveling within the tubing.
Flow Injection Analysis (FIA)
Flow Injection Analysis is considered as an acceptable alternative to equivalent segmented flow methods. In other words, though USEPA method 350.1 is a segmented flow method, the USEPA considers a FIA method equivalent. There are thousands of literature references to FIA methods, and multiple ATP approvals. Since the EPA considers FIA equivalent to SFA, OI did not obtain EPA ATP letters. There are also several FIA methods that are EPA approved without an SFA equivalent, for instance CN by OIA1677.
In Flow Injection analysis the sample is injected by a valve into a carrier stream. The sample solution does not pass through peristaltic pump tubing prior to the valve. Mixing occurs as the sample travels through tightly wound Teflon mixing coils. Unlike segmented flow that may contain multiple samples within the tubing all at the same time, Flow injection injects a sample and detects it before the next sample is injected.
Comparison of SFA and FIA
Flow Injection is basically a derivative of SFA without air segmentation. Both SFA and FIA mix sample and reagents in a continuously flowing stream of reagents. The reaction that occurs, the peak shape, the sensitivity, and so forth is all determined by how the tubing is configured, where the reagents are teed in, and the length of the tubing that the reactions are happening in. Instrument manufacturers configure tubing "cartridges" according to published methodology, or develop methods based on R&D and published works.
An analyst can readily change and/or modify method performance simply by modifying any aspects of the analytical cartridge. Since the segmentation of SFA limits dispersion, SFA is a bit more forgiving than FIA in the length of tubing. For instance, the addition of extra tubing on a FIA method can significantly change peak shape and sensitivity, while additional tubing on a SFA system does not really matter. For example, at one of my previous laboratories we routed an SFA method that had a non-working heater cartridge through several feet of tubing to the fecal coliform bath and then back to the detector. Adding several feet of tubing would have been detrimental to FIA, but was un noticeable in the SFA method.
Literature is deceiving in sample size as SFA methods tend to use less sample than FIA. Throughput by FIA is not faster, and in fact it has been demonstrated that a well operated SFA system far exceeds FIA in samples per hour. SFA mixes by an end over end similar to putting sample and reagent in a vial and inverting. FIA mixes by what Ruzika termed "controlled dispersion" which is harder to explain than end over end, and is a result of solution flowing faster through the center than at its sides, and then rapidly colliding with the walls of the mixing coils and other flow interruptions placed in its path. SFA signals do not have to be brought to a maximum, but theoretical SFA should always be and the resulting peak would be rectangular. Because of the "tunneling" that occurs in FIA flow, a FIA peak is Gaussian.
It is hard to say exactly what the maximum time for a SFA incubation is because the only limiting factor is the minimal carryover that occurs as solution "transfers" from one segment to the next while traveling down the tube. Most FIA literature places 2 minutes at the maximum for FIA. In fact, Ruzika and Hansen gave a 1 minute maximum for FIA reaction.
Advantages of Flow Methods
Many methods are written specifically for continuous flow analysis. Some examples are ammonia by EPA 350.1 or Block digestion TKN by EPA 351.2. An example of a FIA method written specifically for FIA is OIA 1677. These EPA methods specify automated chemistry in the methodology itself. Other methods, such as the manual fluoride by ISE method, can be modified according to 40 CFR Part 136.6 and made into automatic methods. Continuous flow methods reduce manual labor and that reduction of manual labor tends to make precision better and reduce potential contamination. Flow methods also tend to have lower MDL's than manual methods and a better chance of fewer QC failures.

Procera AVH Takes All Your Worries Away
Is having a poor memory, inability to focus and concentrate, and mental absence causing you dilemma? Is it such a burden to not face every day with confidence? We have found a solution for you. Just take Procera AVH and face life's challenges without any worries.
Procera AVH is an all-natural nutritional supplement. It is a breakthrough supplement proven to be safe, and effective in helping enhance and restore brain's natural function. It is proven to help one's memory, mood, concentration, focus, and energy back to its original state. The main action of this is to bring back the natural level of oxygen and the neurotransmitter acetylcholine in the brain.
The ingredient that contributes greatly to the success of this nutritional supplement is Vinpocetine. This is taken from the Periwinkle flower or vinca minor.
Vinpocetine has been used for centuries to help alleviate weariness which is associated with advanced age. It is proven to enhance cognitive functions like long-term and short-term memory, alertness, awareness, and preparedness. But how does it work? It works by facilitating cerebral metabolism and helps improve blood flow in the brain which in turn results in increased oxygen delivery and glucose utilization. Aside from the aforementioned, Vinpocetine is also known to aid in the production of ATP which increases the brain-cell energy. ATP or Adenosine-5'-triphosphate transports chemical energy within cells for metabolism.
Aside from Vinpocetine, which is the magic behind the effectiveness of Procera AVH, there is also Huperzine A and Acetyl-l-carnitine. Huperzine A is a substance from the Chinese club moss. It increases the levels of acetylcholine. It aids in improving memory and mental function. Acetyl-l-carnitine is an amino acid known to help produce energy in the body. It aids in age-related memory loss, depression, and poor circulation in the brain.
Once taken, Procera AVH makes you feel that you are full of energy throughout the day but it doesn't contain any stimulants at all. It is safe to take as long as you follow the directions on how to properly use Procera AVH.

CoQ10 and health
Coenzyme Q10 is a ubiquitous compound (hence the name, ubiquinone), which is in every cell of the body. The primary function of CoQ10 is to maintain a rapid conversion of oxygen (O2) in water (H2O) in the mitochondria of the cell. In the process of free electrons in the chemical conversion of sugars and fats are produced and transferred into chemical energy crops (together with protons, H +) to oxygen molecules. The energy in the reduction of oxygen (O2) released to water (H2O)is used to make ATP, the carrier of chemical energy by mitochondria, the rest of the cell.
CoQ10 is absolutely good for the free electrons needed to meet the oxygen within a cell. In fact, CoQ10 provide a focal point for the "electron transport chain, linking the molecules, the shuttle only through cell specific proteins (cytochrome) that electrons directly to the molecules of O2.
Because CoQ10 plays a centralRole in connecting the electrons and oxygen determines the amount of CoQ10 available, the rate of energy production by a cell - even if a lot of oxygen and electrons, "pending". People can synthesize cCoQ10 endogenous and therefore is not considered a vitamin. However, studies show that levels of CoQ10 decrease with age and taking certain medications. Therefore, integration of CoQ10 is needed to refuel. availability CoQ10 in the mitochondria of cells is an importantDeterminant of energy and thus the speed and force of contraction in cardiac muscle cells (cardiomyocytes) and, indeed, in all muscles.
It 'clear that the heart of all the muscles - legs, arms, chest and benefits from ample supply of CoQ10. The efficiency of muscular work, the amount of energy consumed during the work and the ability to use energy in productive activities and pleasant all depend on the availability of sufficient amounts of CoQ10. Studies have shown that theEuropean Heart Journal and published in the Archives of Neurology, increase the supply of CoQ10 available, all the muscles in support of their efforts to valuable work harder, faster and longer. CoQ10 supports both aspects of the activity intensity and duration. Increasing the maximum intensity of work that can be achieved, CoQ10 can help the user experience seems to be lighter and require less effort. Increasing the length of time to enjoy the activities, may be to ensure adequatelevels of CoQ10 can contribute to delay feelings of fatigue.
few nutrients for the heart, were studied as Coenzyme Q10. In the body, serves to the body convert food into components from our ATP, can use energy. Several studies have shown that CoQ10 supplementation, cardiovascular health and supports healthy cardiovascular function.
Even if CoQ10 will give you "energy" - this requires a healthy diet - CoQ10 helps your energy moreeffective - they make you feel energetic, active and healthy. I wrote much more about CoQ10 and other compounds / nutrients in my book "The best kept secrets for healthy aging.

Glyconutrients - you need carbohydrates
Your carbs now?
Since it is only in the last 100 years that the discoveries to the realization of vitamins, minerals, led, and antioxidants ... The experts agreed that as much as the body and nutritional needs. While there are studies on carbohydrates during the past 40 years, only recently scientists and experts in physiology found a new meaning to carbohydrates (oligosaccharides).
Why do someto say to modern nutrition stay away from carbs? Because your instructor will tell you more mass on carbohydrates before sporting events? And there is another new class of carbohydrate based on new scientific research ... essential for carbohydrates (glyconutrients), which are not even in our diet?
Where you come from carbohydrates?
Carbohydrates are synthesized in plants through the process of photosynthesis. There are simple carbohydrates(Monosaccharides) and complex carbohydrates (Disaccharides, oligosaccharides and polysaccharides). Carbohydrates name derives from the fact that carbohydrates Cn (H2O) n. Carbohydrates function as a component of ATP for energy, essential components of DNA and RNA, and cell surface have recently been identified as recognition sites
Carbohydrates Research
Since 1970, a growing number of studies on carbohydrates in human and doneAnimals with the hope of creating healthy, strong animals and humans. Until recently, carbohydrates thought of as nothing more than just a source of energy. liver glycogen is an efficient short-term memory for carbohydrates registered. However, much more energy per kilogram of body weight with triglycerides are stored as glycogen, which store energy as triglycerides in adipose tissue (fat) tissue in the body is its priority, metabolic products after a meal.
With the help of new technologiesDevelopments such as high-powered microscopes, science began to see how cells communicate and work with them. This alone has led to several Nobel prizes for science and medicine over the past ten years.
Single carbohydrate
A group of 8 carbohydrates were revealed as "indispensable" for the body to be burned as an energy source is not a source of energy, but as a special mark on the cell surface. The research and development companyfound a way to make a supplement to this form, has created a new word to describe it when they called glyconutrients. The R & D company now is only world producer of a full 8 glyconutrients. Excluding these special identifier on the cell surface, cells have to do a difficult time for cell-cell communication signal, o. This is when a person becomes ill, or even comes down with a degenerative disease or cancer, depending on the severity.
A new class ofNutrients called glyconutrients has been discovered and scientifically validated. The extract from the research and development company in Texas, along with several new laboratory equipment and a team of highly qualified scientists from around the world and discover a way of stabilizing and making a concentrated powder glyconutrients, becoming the first pioneers glyconutrients September For the first time, a supplement used to assist directly the cell therefore be an effective way.
In the sameBusinesses today is the world leader in glyconutrients research and production. Still spend millions of dollars each year, more than any other supplier Glyconutrients ... additional research on glyconutrients, unlike other companies that put their money in advertising.

Creatine is one of the most popular sports training supplements in the world and is used by hardcore weightlifters and elite athletes because it works. Some people are concerned that there may be some negative creatine effects on the body but there is little information about any possible negative effects and it is very safe to use for most people.
Creatine works by facilitating the regeneration of ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which is the primary fuel source our muscles use when performing any type of physical work. Creatine occurs naturally in nature and is actually produced by our own bodies and can be consumed in protein rich foods. We get approximately 1 g per day from dietary sources and our bodies also produce approximately 1 g per day. Supplementation is a good way to get additional creatine and helps to give athletes and bodybuilders more energy for short bursts of strenuous activity. This gives anyone training with weights the ability to complete a few more repetitions and push their workouts to the next level.
One of the other positive creatine effects on the body is that it helps avoid muscle soreness after a workout which increases recovery time. It gives your muscles another source of energy and allows you to work out longer with less fatigue. When your muscles deplete their limited supply of ATP they must burn glycogen for additional energy in a process known as lactic acid fermentation. This lactic acid is what causes muscle soreness and because creatine aids in the regeneration of ATP it delays the lactic acid fermentation process.
Some people have concerns and fears that there may be some negative creatine effects on the body. Creatine is generally safe for most people but if you do notice any negative effects you should discontinue use immediately. For most people is perfectly safe and a very effective supplement, helping them achieve greater results in a shorter period of time.

CoQ10 - This Supplement CoQ10 is One of My Top 10 For Good Reasons
Co-Q10 Research
Current research into Co-Q10, also known as "Vitamin Q," has shown a number of fascinating health benefits, such as lowering blood pressure, counteracting degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's and muscular dystrophy, boosting energy, and helping to treat heart failure. The benefits seem limitless, and while research is still ongoing and not yet conclusive, results thus far are promising.
Co-Q10 is a naturally-occurring enzyme in every cell of the body, particularly in the energy-producing mitochondria organelles within the cells. As a component of the electron transport chain, it is an integral part of the cellular respiration process, which transforms food and air into ATP, or energy, that we use to go about our lives. ATP, or adenosine triphosphate, is used to power 95% of the body's functions, both conscious and unconscious. People with low levels of Co-Q10, therefore, do not transform food into energy as efficiently as people with normal levels, and thus their bodies simply have less energy overall. The immune system is compromised, cell repair is limited, toxins are not flushed as effectively, and blood sugar levels do not stabilize as quickly, among other things.
Much of the latest research has been on the side of overall health and preventative medicines, tools to stimulate the body into activating its own natural healing mechanisms. While this research takes longer to prove its effectiveness, studies such as those performed by Lars Ernster of Sweden have shown convincing results. Ernster's research, almost twenty years old now, has shown Co-Q10 to be a powerful antioxidant, likely due to its ability to energize the body to deal with free radicals that otherwise would have been free to roam and cause havoc. Even earlier than that, Professor Karl Folkers proved the correlation between heart disease and low Co-Q10 levels, and received national awards for his contributions.
The fact that Co-Q10 has not been made more available is a mystery having a lot, perhaps, to do with its unmarketability. "Cure-all" drugs tend to be shunned by manufacturers, and held under suspicion by doctors. After all, for every legitimate healthy supplement, there are at least five bogus ones crowding it on the shelves. Co-Q10, however, has undergone some significant research and study, and the theory behind it is eminently sound. Despite this, however, it is always important to consult a doctor or health professional before beginning any new dietary supplement.
Almost everything that you would like your body to do on its own is impaired by not having enough ATP. If Co-Q10 is not present in large enough quantities, the body will not produce enough ATP. This justifies the current findings of researchers which show the ubiquitous health benefits of Co-Q10 dietary supplementation. Whether you are recovering from heart failure, suffering from high blood pressure, or even have migraines on a daily basis, research has shown that Co-Q10 supplements can help alleviate your symptoms. By attacking the root of the problem - your body's energy supply - they pave the way for your body to heal itself.
There have been concerns about Co-Q10's side effects, notably that in some people it can cause diarrhea and rash. Because it lowers blood sugar levels, diabetics should especially be careful when using it, and always consult a doctor. As with any supplement, it is meant to be an additional, supplementary element to treating disease - it is not a treatment for chronic disease in and of itself. Despite all this, the benefits of supplementing one's diet with Co-Q10 are clear. Interestingly, Co-Q10 is highly prevalent in fish, especially mackerel and herring. However, if you have a serious condition that would be benefited by Co-Q10 supplements, taking the concentrated pill is still recommended.

High Energy Dietary Supplements - Supplements to Give You a Nitro Boost
Maintaining one's physical appearance is very important in the present scenario. A lot of emphasis is given to physical appearance today than it was a few years back. In such a world, would you like to be an outcast? No, certainly not. Who wants to be the last runner in the race that is run by the entire world? The answer that is on everyone's mind is "Not me." Then, you should consider going on a proper diet that can provide all the nutrients or a different nutrient everyday. Find this hard to digest? The other best option is to use high energy dietary supplements.
The main reason for the large scale usage of high energy dietary supplements is because they can substitute irregular diet and provide the energy that is required to keep oneself going throughout the day. If you decide to use a high energy dietary supplement, you ought to know what suits your usage. One of the most commonly used high energy dietary supplements is Vitamin B-complex. It is just an umbrella term used for all the water soluble vitamins except Vitamin C. This group includes vitamin B1 (thiamine), vitamin B6 (riboflavin), vitamin B3 (niacin), vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), vitamin B12 (cobalamins) biotin, and folic acid.
Another important high energy dietary supplement is calcium. It is one of the most essential nutrients of the body. It is found inside the human body in abundance in the teeth and bones. Other essential functions of calcium are blood clotting, muscle contraction as well a transmission of nerve signals. A very essential high energy supplement is Co Q10. This converts food into ATP or Adenosine triphosphate. This gives the body the energy that is required to perform daily actions. It is an antioxidant and can protect the muscles from free radicals and preserve vitamin E.
They high energy dietary supplements also include Glucosamine and chondroitin. These two build up the connective tissues. This high energy dietary supplement is also utilized for curing ostheoarthritis. Iron is also a very essential mineral as it contains hemoglobin, the pigment that makes blood appear red and transports oxygen as well as CO2 within the body. Iron also contains myoglobin that helps in the storage of oxygen within the muscles. An important high energy supplement is multiple vitamin mineral supplements (MVMs). They offer a convenient method to intake many supplementary nutrients at one stretch. However, they may contain useful as well as useless nutrients.
One simple high energy dietary supplement is sot. This is a staple food in many Asian nations. Soy contains a lot of proteins, saporins, isoflavones and phytosterols. This food gives the amino acids that are essential to the body without containing any cholesterol. Vitamin A is also an important supplement. It has a multitude of applications. It helps in the normal production of a cell, it aids in maintaining a healthy vision, the embryo and the fetus grow healthily and it is every essential for the proper functioning of the reproductive system in humans. There are many high energy dietary supplements but they cannot be consumed for their taste. They are to be consumed only when they are absolutely essential.

Tennis Footwork - If You Really Want To Improve Your Game Leave Your Racket In Your Bag
This may seem like the most bizarre piece of information you've ever heard, but let's just back things up a little bit.
Let's think about what happens when you playing a game.
You get yourself into the point with a great return off a good wide serve by your opponent. You are moving (each other) all over the court building the point nicely when all of a sudden your opponent attacks by deciding to come to the net. You attempt a pass which they volley into the opposite corner and you head off to play a stunning running single-handed backhand pass down the line that a certain Mr Federer would be proud of.
Let's think about what just happened there.
You may have hit the ball maybe 6 or 7 times but what did you do for the majority of the point?
MOVE!
You moved to all of your tennis shots and you moved to recover.
The fact remains that the time spent hitting shots, never mind the actual time the ball spends on the strings is only a tiny fraction of the time spent moving to and away from your shots.
If this is the case, why do people spend so little time working on their tennis footwork and movement if it is the one thing you spend the most time doing?
FACT! The ATP tour stats on unforced errors are that over 70% of them are down to poor footwork.
Which means......?
If you really want to improve your game, it's very simple - you need to improve your movement and therefore your footwork.
And here is what you need to do!
When we look at footwork in tennis, the first thing you need to do is stop running so much on the court.
You should only run if you are a long way from the ball and it is the only way to get there quickly. Apart from that most of your movements around the court should be made using side shuffles and cross over steps (basically short step movements).
By having good footwork you get the flexibility of choice. You get to choose open or closed stance, cross court or down the line, backhand or inside out forehand, deep or short, passing shot or lob to name but a few. Without it you will have fewer choices available and the choices you do have may well suffer from poor execution.
You improve your agility, balance and co-ordination which are all vital components for high level play.
The type of footwork drills you should be using include cone drills like zig zags and drills that use ladders as a training aid.
My recommendation is that you start incorporating footwork drills into every one of your lesson/practice times. If your coach is not up to speed with all of this then do it on your own or find another coach!
You know that saying - what came first the chicken or the egg?
Well in the case of tennis it is without doubt the movement before the shot ' so try leaving your racket in the bag, work on your footwork and movement and discover how well you hit the ball when you finally do pull your racket out.
I have put together a special report on tennis footwork which goes into a bit more detail and includes 10 pages of drills to be used.
Laser Hair Regrowth Device Now Has FDA Clearance
It may seem strange to hear about a laser being used for hair regrowth, but this type of treatment has been around for some time and was discovered accidentally by a scientist testing the effects laser radiation on mice. It was in 1967 soon after the first working laser was invented that Dr Endre Mester at Semmelweis, university in Hungary was carrying our research to see if laser radiation cased cancer in mice. No cancers were found, but what surprised him was that hair grew back much more quickly on a shaved test area of the mice than on the mice in an untreated group. This effect called low level laser therapy (LLLT) also known as laser biostimulation, photobiomodulation and cold laser therapy is now used for the treatment of hair regrowth.
Possibly due to the then high cost of laser technology, very little research was carried out over the two decades after the first experiments were conducted. During the 1980s LLLT started becoming available as an expensive treatment through a number of exclusive hair clinics. The lasers used were large complicated fixed devices where patients had to sit under a hood similar to a salon hair dryer. Treatments were performed as frequently as 2-3 times per week, this was often inconvenient for individuals who might have to travel many miles to the nearest clinic or salon. However the results achieved were very good and soon, many salons all over the Europe, Asia and later in the US began offering treatments.
This laser hair regrowth treatment has now been backed up as an effective hair loss treatment by many scientific studies. In 1982 Trelles, M., and Mayayo, E, published "The Growth of Hair Under Laser Influence of the HE-NE Beam". In this study, patients with alopecia areata responded with positive results after only 6 to 8 twice weekly treatments. Later studies in the 1990's tested lasers working at different wavelengths and pulsing the laser to find the most effective laser configuration for treating hair loss. Most therapeutic lasers now operate at a wavelength in the range 600-1000nm where the wavelength is related to how far the light penetrates the scalp. The best wavelength to use is still argued over but it should be sufficient to penetrate at least 5-6mm depth to target the hair bulbs. Many current LLLT devices operate using visible red light at a wavelength of 660nm which can penetrate down to a depth of about 8-10mm. Higher wavelength lasers at 800-900nm are also used these can penetrate to a depth of about 30-40mm but these are mainly used for treating joints and muscle related problems.
More recent LLLT laser hair regrowth studies have started to reveal the reasons why and how laser light therapy helps stimulate hair regrowth. These studies have shown that laser light increases the levels of a chemical compound called adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is known to stimulate living cells including the hair follicles. LLLT also has the effect of increasing the circulation of blood to the hair root which delivers the nutrients to cells that make up the hair follicle. The increased blood flow is also thought to help flush away the damaging waste products that may affect the hair growth cycle. This helps to improve the scalp environment to help stop thinning hair and promote new hair growth.
Over the last few years laser technology has advanced to a stage where a laser devices can now be manufactured to a size smaller than your small finger nail and at very low cost. In 2000 a company developed and patented the first miniature LLLT laser hair regrowth device using the new laser technology. This made possible for the first time an effective LLLT hair loss treatment that was cheap and small enough be used in your own home without having to go to an expensive hair clinic. The new device comes in the form of a hair comb/brush that needs only be used for 10-15 minutes three times per week. The manufacturers claim that while users experience will vary, 45% of users will see positive results after 8 weeks of treatment with another 45% seeing benefits from 10-16 weeks onward.
In February 2007 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) cleared the laser comb device for use in the treatment of hair regrowth. The laser comb is now one of only three treatments cleared by the FDA for use in hair regrowth the others being Finasteride and Minoxidil. The laser hair regrowth device now brings new hope to the many men and women suffering from premature hair loss.

Gaining Weight - Is There a Healthy Way?
Although you think eating more greasy food or junk food will help in gaining weight unfortunately it isn't very healthy for you. Although they contain lots of calories they also contain high levels of saturated and Trans fats as well. Instead you should be looking for foods that are not only healthy but will ensure that you gain weight also. Below we take a look at what to eat to gain weight.
First in your quest to gaining weight, you should be making sure that you are increasing your intake of foods that contain healthy fats such as Omega 3. The kinds of foods which contain this essential fatty acid are tuna and salmon along with flax seed and walnuts.
Secondly you need to make sure that you are eating foods that contain good levels of protein and carbohydrates as well. So in your journey to gaining weight, increase your intake of lean meats, poultry, seeds, beans, nuts, whole grains, vegetables and fruits. However each meal that you eat should not contain carbs and fat in it, but you must make sure that it contains protein.
When it comes to the amount of carbohydrates you eat they should make up a total of one third of the food that you consume. Whereas when it comes to protein this should be around one fifth of what you consume as part of your weight gain diet.
It is crucial that as part of gaining weight, you make sure that you are getting sufficient amounts of calcium in it. For someone who is trying to gain weight they need to be ingesting around 700mg of calcium each day. This is equivalent to you drinking one pint of milk or consuming two small containers of yogurt. But along with these foods containing calcium it can be obtained from soy milk and leafy green vegetables.
Although caffeine is a stimulant and increases your metabolic rate you need to reduce the amount you consume. By reducing the amount of caffeine you consume you are helping to ensure that your body retains as many nutrients from what you consume as possible.
Yes you can have fatty and sugary foods as part of gaining weight but you should only be having them in small amounts. Instead it is best that you use these as treats when you have achieved a certain goal. However, although they help to put on weight they don't help to put it on in the right places. Rather than helping to increase muscle mass instead they will just make your waistline bigger.
Gain weight supplements can be an important part of your daily regiment. Do your research to ensure proper and well formulated balances of vitamins and minerals. Gain weight supplements are widely available in drinks, powders and in easy to swallow pill form.
But as well as learning what to eat when gaining weight, a person needs to learn to exercise properly as well. The best way of helping to increase muscle mass and so help you gain weight is by doing free weight exercises. The great thing about these types of exercises is that you can actually do them from the comfort of your own home if you wish rather than going to a gym. But you need to make sure that you are doing them otherwise the extra calories you eat will end up being stored in the body as fat.
