When to Take Creatine As a Bodybuilding Supplement

Why Use Creatine?

Taking Creatine gives you many advantages with your bodybuilding program. By using it, you're able to lift more weight and your muscle repairs faster. If you like to lift a lot of weight and take short breaks in between, then this can enable you to bulk up faster.

Providing it is taken as recommended, Creatine is a safe bodybuilding supplement when paired with proper nutrition and training. Your body makes Creatine naturally. The more active you are, the higher amount of Creatine that gets metabolized.

You can get it by eating red meat and some fish products, but when you're bodybuilding, it's hard to have that sort of intake solely from food. That's where Creatine supplements (usually in powder form) come in handy.

How Creatine Works

Creatine helps hydrate your cells so that your strength improves and your muscles appear fuller. It helps your body tolerate a more substantial workout, which is essential to bodybuilding.

It also helps your body make ATP, which stands for Adenosine Triphosphate. This fuels the muscles so that instead of encountering that burn that you normally feel, you're able to carry on with a set and get more repetitions in.

In addition to body-building benefits, Creatine has been claimed to help lower cholesterol and triglycerides. For strength building, you will need to load up with 20 grams for five days and between 5 to 10 grams afterwards.

You may want to adjust the grams to suit your needs, but this is the most common measurement for ingesting Creatine.

Side Effects

Creatine sometimes has side effects. But compared to many supplements, they're pretty mild and include things like upset stomach or muscle cramping. Consumers have said serum Creatine has fewer side effects than the powder version.

Whenever you take a Creatine supplement, make sure you stay hydrated because dehydration is a common side effect. Plus, your body is pulling in water to your cells, so it needs extra fluids.

Main Benefits Of Creatine

The best reason to take Creatine supplements is if you find that you are not able to sustain a hard workout for very long. Some bodybuilders have started out unable to lift much weight for long endurance periods, but as they increase their Creatine levels, they can push through and see better results.

If you simply take Creatine and then don't push harder, you won't see any additional muscle volume. You have to put the supplement to work in your body. You'll need to up your protein intake too, so that your bodybuilding efforts are maximized through your workouts.

Discover the Truth About Green Tea Fat Metabolizer

Before you buy a green tea fat metabolizer, take some time, right now, to learn a little bit about how or why they might work and exactly "what" they might be able to do. The green tea metabolism effects are not proven, despite what some proponents may tell you. So, we only have "maybes".

Your resting metabolic rate is equivalent to the number of calories that your body burns at rest. People with more muscle mass burn more. People with more fat deposits burn less, which is why there is a difference between the calories that a man or a woman needs everyday. Men tend to have more muscle mass, while women have more fat deposits.

A green tea fat metabolizer is supposed to help your body burn more calories at rest and during exercise. Other supplements, including chromium, ATP, resveratrol and gingko biloba have been shown to have similar affects, in some studies.

You just need to realize that these are not magic pills. Losing weight and maintaining that loss takes effort.

So, that's the "what" of green tea metabolism affects. The how and why are actually unknown. There have been clinical studies using a variety of different supplements, foods and exercise programs. Your best bet is to choose a complete approach, rather than relying on a single step to insure your success.

Here are a few suggestions.

Fitness experts have learned that people are most successful when they alternate aerobic activities with muscle building exercises. That makes sense, because the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns at rest.

Specific foods are more satisfying and support the body's ability to build muscle. They are primarily protein-rich foods that include eggs, steak, lentils and black beans. The body cannot build muscle without protein and focusing on getting enough protein insures that you won't lose muscle on a low calorie diet.

Add to this the green tea metabolism affects, as well as other beneficial supplements and you have a good plan.

But, choose your green tea fat metabolizer, carefully. Most of the diet pills on the market are loaded with caffeine.

It's cheap and supposed to suppress your appetite. It's also a stimulant drug that is bad for your health.

In one study, researchers noted that the green tea metabolism affects could not be explained solely by its caffeine content. That's when they began focusing on catechins.

A green tea fat metabolizer should have at least an 80% catechin content and works best when combined with other nutrients.

Besides the possible green tea metabolism boost, there may be other health benefits, including a reduced cancer risk and a reduced risk of heart disease. It can even help you think more clearly and focus on your goals.

A recent study concluded that caffeine-intake reduced the risk of Alzheimer's.

But, remember, moderation is the key. Too much caffeine can have negative affects on your mind and your body.

A green tea fat metabolizer should not contain added caffeine.

Remember, when it comes to your health look for a supplement that not only includes green tea extract were caffeine content is greatly reduced, but also contains vitamins, minerals, and herbal extracts that work in synergy with one another.

What You Need to Know About Muscles and How to Build Them

You have about 650 muscles in your body. You need these muscles to perform everyday activities. Muscles are needed for eating, walking, and drinking. I hope that this article will help you to better understand how muscles work and how to build them.

Muscle fibers all have different abilities. Your skeletal muscles are the ones that you look at in the mirror. There are 2 different types of skeletal muscle tissue. Slow twitch and fast twitch. Slow twitch muscle fibers are mainly used for endurance activities. Fast twitch muscle fibers are used for more explosive short term activities like weight lifting. If you are not using fast twitch muscle tissue then you are not moving the bar.

The quantity of muscle fibers that you have is set at birth. It is up to you to work on the quality of those muscles. By lifting weights and getting regular exercise, you can increase the size and the strength of both fast and slow twitch muscle fibers. The harder that you work and the better you eat, the more developed your muscles will become.

Growing muscles need more than protein. Your muscles are made of protein and you also have to eat protein in order to get them to grow and maintain them. But if you are already lean and you want to put on quality lean muscle mass, too much protein will actually make you lose weight. This is because it is metabolically expensive for the body to process.

Be sure that you are doing weight training exercises and lifts that will employ as many different muscles as possible. Deadlifts, squats, dips, and military presses are good examples of these exercises. Use heavy weights when you are lifting, at least 85% of your 1 rep max. Do alot of work during your gym time, there is no time for chit chat. Try to do this in all of your workouts.

What Can You Learn From Roger Federer?

Roger Federer is the current king of men's tennis. 2005 was an incredible year for him as he entered 15 tournaments and won 11 of them including Wimbledon and US Open for the second consecutive year. His 4 losses came in one quarterfinal, two semifinals and one final.

In 2006 he already won Australian Open and Wimbledon and played in the French Open final.

But how did Roger Federer become such a good player and what are his special abilities or mental traits that make him such a superb player?

If you take a look at his career you'll find that his path to the top was not easy at all:

In 1998 - aged 17 - he entered 4 ATP tournaments and lost 3 times in the first round.

In 1999 he played 21 ATP tournaments and lost 8 times in the first round and 4 times in the second. He won one challenger event in the whole year.

In 2000 - aged 19 - he lost 5 times in a row and later 7 times in row in the first round but started to get higher and higher in the tournaments. All in all he lost 14 times in the first round! Interesting fact - he lost to Michael Chang at Halle on grass in the 3rd round!

In 2001 he finished the year at nr. 12 but still lost 6 times in the first round (or his first match he played since he had a »bye« twice in the first round. That was also the year he won that fantastic match against Pete Sampras in Wimbledon 7:5 in the fifth set.

By 2002 you might think that he has already achieved his mental mastery but he still had some very tough losses:

- against Tommy Haas in Australian Open (R16) 6:8 in the fifth set

- against Davide Sanguientti in the finals if Milan 1:6 in the third

- against Agassi in the finals of Miami - 1:3 in sets (Agassi later commented in his interview that »when Roger Federer learns how to play tennis at this top level we're all in trouble

- lost in the first round of Wimbledon against Mario Ančič 0:3!

Finished the year at nr. 6.

In 2003 he lost in the finals against Felix Mantilla in Rome 0:3 and 10:12 in the final set tie-break. Lost in the first round of French Open against Luis Horna and then won Wimbledon for the first time!

He lost in the finals of Gstaad just after Wimbledon against Jiri Novak and hadn't lost a final until the masters cup 2005 against Nalbandian. That's an incredible run of 24 consecutive wins in the finals!

So what can we learn from Roger Federer?

First, he had to go through very tough times - he lost 5 and 7 times in a row in the first round in 2000. Many players would make the conclusion that they can't make it, that they are losers and so on. But the past does not define the future unless we decide it to. Roger Federer didn't think that because he lost 14 times in the first round that year he can't make it big on the ATP tour. He practiced harder, smarter, learned his lessons and MOVED ON.

He also lost 2 finals (and later some more) and didn't allow that to become his nightmare scenario. He knew this is just a part of the learning and growing process that every player goes through.

His later achievements reflect his transformation when it comes to finals - 24 consecutive wins in the finals. We've all heard and seen players who get really nervous when it's the finals day. Why? Because of negative thinking. They are thinking what a waste it would be if they lots this final. They really don't want to lose this opportunity.

Roger Federer on the other hand seems to explode in the finals. Last year's US Open against Agassi was a perfect example. Roger didn't play at his best a couple of previous rounds but when he started the match against Agassi he was simply destroying him with aggressive and attacking play.

How does Roger do that?

He is focused on what he wants. He wants to win, he can feel how it would be to win and with that feeling and that positive thinking he generates a lot of energy. He goes for what he wants and doesn't think what he wants to avoid. The only thoughts in his mind are about the winning, the trophy and his feeling about it.

And that is his next special ability - he can enter the zone almost on command. He is the master of the inner game where he plays instinctively, courageously and creatively.

We can easily detect that when we observe how his head remains still after the point of contact. The reason for that is that his mind is still at the point of contact. He is not worried, afraid, doubtful in thinking ahead. He is fully present in that specific moment of striking the ball. And he moves on with his mind and body when the stroke is finished.

The other inner game quality that he possesses is the ability of non-judgment. Roger Federer is not perfect (even though some think so...) and he makes unforced errors too. But you will rarely see him show any emotion about that. He accepts them as a part of the game and remains focused on his goal - what he wants - instead of that he doesn't want - to make mistakes.

Roger Federer had to learn the game the hard way. But he didn't allow the setbacks to define his future. Remember that when you lose a first round match or a final.

He is focused on what he wants and he goes for it. This is very important because we have the ability to control our thinking if we decide to. Focus on what you want.

Roger Federer plays in the state of acceptance. He accepts negative or disturbing events and his own mistakes and limitations as a part of the game and a part of himself. He doesn't judge them and feel bad about them. It would immediately take him out of the zone.

Observe that in him and other tennis players and look for the moments when you experience that. Then build on that until it becomes your second nature. An then you'll be free.

Is it That Hard to Travel Tibet?

To me Tibet was that elusive destination I always wanted to go but never knew how to get there, or if it was at all possible. Rumors and truths spurt from various sources about the difficulties of getting there, the hardships of the Tibetan people, and the care one must take when travelling there as a tourist. I was put off but never deterred from plans to travel this forbidden land, and I will never regret the path I chose to travel this stunning, foreboding and surreal country.

Is it difficult to get there? No actually it is not. Most people think the best way to go about it, is to fly into Lhasa, and go from there. I found a better way was to go overland from Nepal, Kathmandu over the friendship bridge and through places such as Nyalam, Tingri, Skekar, Lhatse or Quxar, Shigatse, Gyantse, Nagartse to Lhasa, over a very small but breathtaking region of the Chinese labeled "Autonomous Region" of Tibet. Of course things change all the time, so make sure you fully update yourself on travel to Tibet, permits, travel ability and general stability of the country politically is never something one should presume. A good travel company should be up to date with the goings on, and also offer some alternative if things change on your planned journey.

Again on travel companies in general, I highly recommend organizing this through one that promises Tibetan guides, and secondly uses locally ran accommodations where ever and whenever possible. Although difficult, there are ways to support Tibetan people along your travels, if you know who to travel with. I know D'Tours Original offer such touring standards.

The best time to travel to Tibet is between September to early November, just keep in mind it starts to get very cold the later you go, and accommodations are not always the warmest. You will need to obtain certain permits to travel, and ATP (Alien Travel Permit) and of course a visa etc. Your travel company can help you obtain all of these things. You do not need a Chinese Visa stamped in your passport before coming to Nepal to travel there either, as long as you a returning the way you came, you should not need this at all. Of course rules continually change, so keep yourself informed via internet, forums and tour company advice.

Why is now the best time to go? Spiritually Tibet stands alone, a stony silence hangs over the air like a clear glass case, although it is heart breaking to see the devastation not only in the once lush landscapes, now raped of anything green and left barren and windswept, and to see the deep set lines on beautiful faces withstanding life saturated with iniquitous treatment of the basic human right to live and breathe one's own air. However, It a fast growing foreign population, so fast in fact that soon perhaps traces of Tibet may be consumed forever, so better now than later, and it is worth it, if not for the historical splendour that lines each city with monasteries, stupas and Tibetan artistry. The Tibetan people still somehow find their smile, and warmth behind their eyes, offering you the traveller a rich and rewarding insight into strength and courage and beyond all else, a welcome into a country that is and always will be spiritually theirs and theirs alone.

So go now, because it is a place one should not put aside to go later.

North Floridian Hospitality

Interested in taking a trip to Florida? Consider North Florida for the next vacation
destination. Although most of Florida's most famous attractions are in the south,
the northern part of the state, extending from Pensacola to Jacksonville, offers
travelers plenty of what they expect from Florida with a twist of Southern Charm.

The area surrounding the bustling metropolis and unofficial capital of South Georgia
of Jacksonville is full of fun activities and sights for the whole family. Amelia Island,
home to the Ritz Carlton and the Bausch & Lomb ATP tournament, is a resort
community set within beautiful natural beauty. Between hundred year-old live oaks,
the marshes of the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean is a nature-lovers
paradise, a tennis players dream, and the perfect place to get pampered. Travel
south to Ponte Vedra Beach, home of the Tournament Players Championship at
Sawgrass. Golf lovers will find a plethora of the most prestigious and world-
renowned golf courses while the family will enjoy its beautiful beaches and tranquil
lifestyle. Following the coastline will take visitors to St. Augustine, the nations
oldest city, and home to great shopping and beaches. Take a stroll down St. George
Street for old city charm and shopping and stop for a bite to eat at Opus 39, 95
Cordova St, Fiddlers Green, or Saltwater Cowboys, all St. Augustine favorites.
Jacksonville itself is home to great attractions, including Alltel Stadium, home to the
Jacksonville Jaguars professional football team, the Florida Theatre where you can
see concerts, plays, and shows year round, and the beautiful St. John's River.

Traveling west on 1-70 takes you through Florida's plantation region and
Tallahassee, the state capital. This is not the home of palm trees and famous
beaches, but antique live oaks, sprawling plantation homes, and freshwater springs.
With beaches within a 30-minute drive and plenty of lakes, there are plenty of areas
to play and with two state universities in town there is plenty of arts and cultural
events to enjoy. This area of Florida is so different from the rest, yet many visitors
to the state are not aware of all that the area has to offer. Preservation of the past
and respect for its natural beauty is what keeps the Tallahassee area ready for more
generations to enjoy.

The Florida Panhandle is situated between the southern borders of Georgia and
Alabama and the Gulf of Mexico, making it culturally and historically more similar to
the Deep South than the rest of the state. The Gulf Coast beaches, known as the
Redneck Riviera, are renowned for white sand beaches and warm waters. The
emerald color water extends from Pensacola Bay to Panama City, including beaches
such as Gulf Breeze, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Seaside, Perdido Key, Navarre,
Sandestin, Grayton Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, and Seagrove. Deep-sea fishing is the
activity of choice with Destin known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village"; of
course, eating the catch of the day may be more popular. There are seafood and
oyster houses on every corner catering to families, couples, or large parties.
Seaside, made famous by the movie "The Truman Show", is known for its quaint
pastel-colored homes and is the perfect place for a family summer vacation.
Panama City is the Spring Break capitol and was named "The Best Beach in America"
by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Enjoy great beachfront restaurants and exiting
nightclubs at night while basking in the sun during the day. Families will love both
its warm temperatures and warm personalities of the locals.

Gorgeous beaches, natural beauty, world-class golf and tennis, southern hospitality,
superb vacation rentals, and warm Florida sunshine make North Florida
the perfect spot for any vacation.

What Causes Skin Aging? Making Sense of the Latest Research Findings

This is Part 1 of a 3-part series on the quest by scientists to find effective ways to fight skin aging. By understanding the leading cause of aging, mitochondrial decay, we can develop comprehensive solutions for long-term skin health.

Theories of aging

Aging is a consequence of changes that are harmful, progressive, and thus far irreversible in most living organisms, including humans. Age-associated damage occurs to biomolecules, cells, and organs. Diseases such as arthritis, osteoporosis, heart diseases, cancer, Parkinson's disease, and Alzheimer's disease occur more frequently with old age.

The biochemical mechanism of aging has long been an area of intensive research, and a number of theories of aging have been proposed, including the neuro-endocrine theory, which links aging to hormonal changes; immunological theory, which attributes aging to immune system dysfunction; telomerase theory, which relates to the shortening of chromosomes during cell division; and oxidative stress theory, which refers to free radical damage to cells.

Among these theories, it is reasonable to distinguish those that attempt to establish primary causes of aging from those that are secondary. For example, the telomerase theory may be secondary since the decrease in telomerase activity can be caused by the increase in cellular oxidative stress.

In gerontology, the study of aging, oxidative stress is increasingly recognized as the primary cause of aging.

The role of mitochondrial decay in aging

If oxidative stress is indeed the primary factor in skin aging, it is important to understand its roots. Scientists now believe that oxidative stress may be caused by mitochondrial decay. Mitochondria, the chief producers of both energy and oxidants inside the cell, play a critical role in the process of aging.

As energy producers, mitochondria convert unusable forms of energy into a usable chemical form known as adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is required for all vital cellular chemical reactions throughout the body. During the metabolic cycle of ATP production, oxidants are released from the mitochondria as harmful by-products that can damage important biomolecules, such as DNA, lipids, and proteins. At the same time, the mitochondria themselves are also victims of this metabolic cycle of ATP production as they are highly susceptible to damage by the oxidants thus released.

Over time, largely due to cumulated damage by the oxidants, the functional capabilities of mitochondria deteriorate; the production of ATP declines; and the release of oxidants increases. The latter inflicts greater damage to the mitochondria, which in turn results in accelerated oxidant production. This is the vicious cycle of mitochondrial decay. If left unchecked, mitochondrial decay leads to cumulative damage in cellular biomolecules, resulting in a host of age-related diseases.

Effects of mitochondrial decay on the skin

The skin is the body's largest organ. The consequence of cumulative damage in skin cell biomolecules is a corresponding increase in the depletion of important extracellular components, such as collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid, among others. The loss of these significant components is manifested in the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, droopiness, pigmentation, puffiness, skin inelasticity, enlarged pores, dryness, and a dull skin tone.

Conclusion

An increasing amount of scientific evidence confirms that mitochondrial decay is the fundamental cause of aging; therefore, scientists are endeavoring to find remedies to reverse the declining functional capabilities of mitochondria due to aging. In Parts 2 and 3 of this series, we will explore what scientists have accomplished in this direction.

Creatine and Glutamine - Two Muscle Building Supplements to Power Up Your Workout

If you are doing the same workout routines and seem to achieve only mediocre results, why not try my two recommendations to power up your workout? In this article, I recommend two of the best supplements that can give a boost to your body to take your workouts to the next level: glutamine and creatine.

The first recommended supplement is the glutamine. This supplement is a bit expensive compared to other supplements but it is the best for muscle repair and to minimize muscle damage.

The reason for glutamine's effectiveness is due to the fact that glutamine, a certain type of amino acid, is naturally found in muscle tissues. Hence, taking this supplement is like directly pumping the amino acid building blocks into your muscles, promoting its speedy recovery from workouts. It is no surprise then that bodybuilders and athletes take glutamine supplements to minimize muscle damage and quickly recover from intense exercise sessions. When you recover fast from fatigue, you can intensify your workout more and more. The main issue, however, with this supplement is its price.

Another recommended supplement is the creatine, a naturally occurring chemical in the body. Creatine is one of the enzymes vital in the energy production in the cells. It basically gives more access to adenosine tri-phosphate or ATP, the molecule for storing energy.

When you are working out, your muscles use ATP for work. ATP then breaks down into ADP to release energy. When ADP reacts with the phosphate found in creatine, ATP is produced once again. When there is sufficient creatine, there is more ATP for the muscle's consumption. You can then intensify your workout and this will lead to more explosive growth of your muscles.

These two supplements are really effective in producing results through promoting more intense workout routines and minimizing muscle damage. These muscle building supplements are really vital to your success. These two are truly recommended.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine - Increase Your Energy With ALC

Acetyl-L-Carnitine Research

Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been shown to improve health across many bodily systems. L-Carnitine is the actual amino-acid-synthesized compound, but the acetylated form (which is more able to cross the blood-brain barrier) has been shown to have a higher bioavailability, meaning the body can more easily process and use it. The function of L-Carnitine within the body is to break down fats into energy. Carnitine delivers a part of the fatty acid to the mitochondria, which is responsible for producing all the energy the body uses. Without enough L-Carnitine, the body cannot create enough ATP from stored fats, which may lead to lethargy or fatigue. Because the body uses ATP for every biological process, carnitine deficiency has been shown to cause many symptoms, notably confusion, vomiting, muscle weakness, brain abnormalities, heart or liver failure, and may even lead to coma or death.

Carnitine deficiency has been associated with malnutrition during periods without food. The idea is that during periods of starvation, the body does not want to burn fat too quickly, so it prevents carnitine from being used. However, depending on your diet and age, your body may require more carnitine than you take in. Vegetarians and vegans should be especially careful, because carnitine is most commonly found in meat products. Pregnant women and elderly people also tend to need more carnitine than the average diet provides: for these groups, an Acetyl-L-Carnitine supplement is advised. You may experience mild symptoms of weakness or tiredness that could be the result of not having enough carnitine.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine, the acetylated version of carnitine, has shown significant promise in clinical trials for improving energy production in the body. Specifically, it has been shown as an effective supplemental treatment for those suffering from angina and in the wake of heart failure. Exercise, essential to those on the road to recovery, is often hard for those with heart disease, but Acetyl-L-Carnitine supplements have been shown to improve patients' ability to exercise without chest pain.

Due to its role in the body in the fat burning process, Acetyl-L-Carnitine has been used in weight-loss supplements for many years. Further studies are needed to confirm this claim; however, some of the roots of obesity, such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) or conditions like atherosclerosis in the legs which prevent exercise, have been shown to improve significantly on an Acetyl-L-Carnitine supplement. Likewise, it has been shown to improve glucose storage, uptake, and oxidation for those suffering from type II diabetes. Acetyl-L-Carnitine helps to balance energy levels in the body, so it makes sense that, combined with regular exercise, it could significantly improve weight loss.

Some of the most extensive research on Acetyl-L-Carnitine supplements has to do with its role in brain health. Because the brain uses so much ATP energy to facilitate its many responsibilities, stable energy levels are vital for healthy brain function. It has been shown to significantly improve neurotransmitter function in the elderly, and can help relieve depression caused by Alzheimer's disease. In addition, studies of Carnitine's role in sexual health have been promising. It has shown to significantly reduce the impact of Peyronie's disease (pain due blocked blood flow in the penis during erection), and low levels of L-Carnitine have been linked to low sperm count.

Finally, as a strong antioxidant, Acetyl-L-Carnitine cleans up free radicals in its area of operation - namely, around the mitochondria. Free radicals are highly reactive molecules that do damage to whatever they are around. Left unchecked, free radicals can do damage to the mitochondria over a lifetime, decreasing our ability to produce energy as we age. With enough Acetyl-L-Carnitine cleaning up the free radicals around our mitochondria, our energy production centers remain intact.

The Benefits of CoQ10

CoQ10, also known as Coenzyme Q10, is regularly produced by the human body and is necessary for the basic functioning of cells. CoQ10 plays a very important role in producing energy for the human body and since levels are said to gradually decrease with age, taking a CoQ10 supplement is very beneficial and can easily increase natural levels over time. It is often used and recommended to help numerous conditions.

CoQ10 is a coenzyme that helps enzyme activities. It also has antioxidant effects, which are used for free radical destruction in the human body. Antioxidants protect the body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. You are exposed to free radicals through by-products, pollutants, and when your body breaks down certain medicines. Antioxidants are known for preventing or slowing down the oxidative damage done to our bodies over time. When our bodies use oxygen, they naturally produce free radicals, which cause lots of damage. Think of antioxidants as our free radical hunters and destroyers. They help prevent and repair the damage caused by free radicals. Health problems such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer are all contributed to oxidative damage. Antioxidants also enhance your immune defenses and help lower your risk for cancer and infection.

Coenzyme Q10 has many benefits. Its antioxidants alone help with a number of diseases such as gingivitis and diabetes. CoQ10 helps in electron transfer, cell respiration, energy production and oxidation reactions and is clinically proven to support heart health. It is necessary for energy production and is also sometimes recommended by caregivers to help individuals with other ailments such as:

- CoQ10 deficiency

- Heart Failure

- Heart Attack (Prevention and Recovery)

- Cardiomyopathy

- High Blood Pressure

- Diabetes

- Gum Disease

- Kidney Failure

- Migraines

- Parkinson's Disease

- Alzheimer's Disease

- Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Heart health is knowingly very important. For instance, people with heart failure have been found to have lower levels of CoQ10 in heart muscle cells. Research has shown that CoQ10 may reduce symptoms related to heart failure, such as shortness of breath, swelling and difficulty breathing. Several smaller studies have noted that CoQ10 is also effectively helpful for certain types of cardiomyopathy.

CoQ10 is most often used as a supplement to help with the diseases listed above, but it is also used to stimulate metabolism of the body to help burn fat and promote weight loss as well as the production of ATP, or energy. CoQ10 is also an effective anti-oxidant that has a very positive influence on the aging process. Coenzyme Q10 is a free radical scavenger, which means it inhibits lipid peroxidation, which is a normal and large aspect of the aging process that causes massive cellular damage over time. Since CoQ10 is so directly associated with energy production, many scientists believe that the decline of CoQ10 over time may contribute directly to the aging of the human body.

As we age, our body's production of CoQ10 declines at a tremendous rate. This is why taking a CoQ10 nutritional supplement is so vital. Taking a CoQ10 supplement is common and widely used around the world. Many individuals use it for certain diseases, or to increase energy levels, or to shed a few pounds. A typical dosage for any CoQ10 supplement is 30 - 90 mg per day, but in some cases the recommended dose can be as high as 200 mg per day dependant on the reason why it is being used. CoQ10 is fat soluble, so it is better absorbed when taken with a meal that contains oil or fat. Side effects are usually mild and do not last very long, but often include nausea, heartburn, diarrhea, insomnia, dizziness, irritability and flu like symptoms. Regardless, coenzyme Q10 has many known benefits that help out people in so many different ways. With many benefits ranging from weight loss, anti-aging assistance, free radical defense and aiding with ailments such as diabetes, it one of the few dietary supplements on the market currently that have many positive benefits and little to no negative ones.

ATP Creatine Serum Review

ATP Creatine Serum claims many things. It claims to go straight to your muscles and require no pre-loading or cycling. I ordered a bottle to find out whether or not it lived it up to my great expectations.

According to the manufacturers, this product is the Creatine brand used by athletes. After my short experience with the stuff, I have to say that I am pretty impressed. When I first took it I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of the serum. It tasted like a really nice and sweet cough medicine and I couldn't wait to take some more. Having said this, taste is not the most important thing in a Creatine supplement.

After taking this stuff before my first workout I did not see much of a change. I was able to do maybe one or two more repetitions on some exercises but nothing special. When I took it before my second workout, however, I noticed a huge change. I was lifting more than I ever had before and shocking my friends with the number of repetitions I was getting done. It is very useful to have the Creatine in a serum form because it means that I can just keep it in my gym bag and not have to worry about mixing shakes at home beforehand.

The real downside with this product is the cost. When I was using powdered Creatine it was costing me much less than it is now. A bottle of this stuff lasts me just over a month, and costs about twice as much as a tub of powdered Creatine. Having said this, I am so impressed with how well the stuff works that I will probably continue ordering it.

Creatine - The Physical Benefits

Creatine has been thought of as synonymous with other performance enhancing drugs such as: android, anadrol, anabolic steroids, testosterone, human growth hormone, and such. Creatine is primarily used as a weight lifting supplement. To put creatine in the same category as these other performance enhancing drugs is to show how uneducated you are on exactly what it is that creatine is and tries to accomplish.

Creatine is a natural component of skeletal muscle. It is produced in synthesis in smaller amount through our natural diets, usually stemming from meats that carnivorous animals acquire through their natural diets. This is a product we intake whether we like to or not, and as it is a natural substance takin in by our bodies, I already have shown it to be a quality supplement, if taken in correct doses.

Simply speaking, creatine is a supplement which causes and increase in our muscle energy availability stores. The cells of our body store their energy in the form of a molecule known as Adenosine TriPhohsphate, or ATP. The amount of work our muscles can perform is a direct consequence of the amount of ATP they have stored as well as the ease with which ATP is regenerated with the help of PCr during strenuous exercise. Think of ATP as the cell's energy currency and phosphocreatine as a debit card with an adjustable balance - the balance being set by creatine deposit via the diet.

First and foremost, creatine enhances physical performance by increasing the number of times that ATP can be recycled during physical exertion without increasing the absolute amount of ATP stored within our muscles. In the short-term this means that creatine supplementation should improve our ability to sustain near maximal force generation during repetitive bouts of intense exercise without actually increasing the amount of peak force we can produce.

Creatine is transferred into our skeletal muscles in an inward basis. That is, the sodium levels on the inside of the living cells is greater than that of the sodium content on the outside of the cells. During your taking of creatine, eating highly glycemic foods will increase insulin injection and will help sort of soak up the creatine into your skeletal muscles much more easily.

The activity of these creatine transporters is also influenced by the presence of creatine itself in the following manners:
(1) elevated plasma creatine interrupts creatine uptake into skeletal muscle via these transporters;
(2) the synthesis of creatine from amino acids is also stopped by elevated plasma creatine.

These are nothing more than examples of normal regulatory feedback processes that are common in cell biology. However, how exogenous creatine supplementation influences these processes in humans is still an open issue. This is why it is often recommended to periodically stop taking creatine to let the body recuperate. Omitting the load phase from supplementation will also mitigate this drawback of creatine supplementation.

HIIT Vs LISS - Round 2

The two forms of cardio that is often disputed is anaerobic vs. aerobic. Now, there are advantages and disadvantages to both, so why the dispute? Whichever one you need really depends on a variety of certain factors, such as: metabolism, goals, time and diet. On a ketogenic diet style diet towards the end of the week you want to avoid anaerobic cardio; this is because it can only burn glucose during the exercise. If you're doing a program that calls for loads of carbs, you can get away with doing either one.

"Aerobic" conditioning is enhancing the bodies ability to deliver oxygen to the mitochondria of a muscle on a protein molecule called "hemoglobin". When you perform a certain exercise that uses the oxidative (aerobic) energy system you are predominantly using triglycerides as fuel. Your body produces energy inside of a muscle. When oxygen is present at the muscle, it is produced inside of the mitochondria of a muscle. As your body is being exercised, the heart begins pumping this blood to be delivered to the mitochondria through hemoglobin and the gas exchange (release of carbon dioxide and deliverance of oxygen) is made in the capillaries. The farther you go, the more the heart has to become efficient at delivering this oxygen. This results in the inferior dimensions of the ventricles of the heart increasing; which in turn, increases the stroke volume of the heart and lowers the resting heart rate.

Even though the resting heart rate decreases, the bodies maximal heart rate would decrease too. In turn, the body instead just pumps more blood (stroke volume) instead of doing more work. Stroke volume refers to the amount of blood that leaves each ventricle during systole, which is the contraction phase of the cardiac cycle. The cardiac output, which is the amount of blood that leaves the ventricles in one minute, stays the same. Basically, aerobic energy results in your body being able to become more efficient at pumping and delivering blood. When hemoglobin reaches the muscle, not all of the oxygen is released. Infact, the heart does not even pump all of its blood when it is resting. The "ejection fraction" of the heart refers to how much blood leaves the ventricle during systole. Usually, if you are resting or not doing vigorous exercise, then it is about 50%. When you begin exercises, it becomes more than that and sometimes reaching 100%.

Lets take a look at how this benefits you. During rest time between sets of exercise, the body is more efficient at pumping blood; thus, in return gives you more endurance and a faster recuperation rate between sets. Anaerobic exercise, like HIIT or weights, allows the muscle to store more glycogen as a form of endurance. What does this tell us? That both are beneficial and should be used. When your body stores more glycogen, you can squeeze out more reps. Think about it, why do you become more efficient at higher rep cardio training? Because you're using anaerobic glycosis to produce energy and your body realizes that it needs to continue producing energy and begins to store more glycogen, resulting in you being able to increase your reps as you become accustomed to that activity.

Now, in a caloric deficit HIIT can sometimes burn more muscle than LISS. This is because HIIT can only use glucose as energy. When your body reaches 50-85% of its maximal intensity, the anaerobic threshold kicks in and the body has to use glucose only. Glucose is simply known as blood sugar, or "carbohydrates" when they enter the body. When a deficit of carbohydrates are present, then the body turns to the amino acids or phosphate creatine to make ATP (energy). On the other hand, HIIT lasts nowhere near as long as LISS, so you could argue that HIIT actually burns an insignificant amount of muscle in the comparison.

When you start using HIIT as cardio, you can easily notice 10 lbs lost in the first month, but don't mistake it all for fat loss. Glucose is a polar molecule, meaning it holds excessive water in the muscles and results in water weight bloat. Seeing you're burning glucose during this specific exercise, you begin to go into a deficit of the bodies normal supply of glycogen and pounds are dropped fast; it is water weight. The benefit to HIIT outside of using the anaerobic energy system, which burns more calories per unit of time, is the metabolic rate increase after the activity is over. Imagine doing cardio all day long, your body is constantly in a demand of energy and breaking down fat. You go in a glucose deficit during HIIT, only to burn what is left (fat) throughout the rest of the day. That is what HIIT is all about. It is about making the equivalent results of doing lower intensity cardio all day long, by increasing metabolic activity, and resulting in better fat loss in half the time. This is because HIIT demands hormonal response from energy enhancing hormones like epinephrine and norepinephrine.

The conclusion of the topic is that you should do both if you are debating on which one. If you're in a glucose deficit through calorie restrictions - like the anabolic diet or the keto, then perhaps LISS is better during the late week, but on the other hand, if you're confident in your preserve of muscle, HIIT is the better option most of the time. Try utilizing both, you'll love the results.

Thyroid Disorders and Candida

Is it possible that we have symptoms of hypothyroid but don't actually have the condition? It is because most people experience that.

Most people think they have thyroid problems. They've seen several specialists with no answers. The reason why you gain weight has something to do with the yeast coating your intestines and not allowing your body to absorb food correctly.

A friend of mine once asked me what causes low temperature of the body. In my opinion, try taking borage and flaxseed oil in capsules; that may stop you from having uncontrollable shivers when it got cold out. These are fatty acids, and not having enough can lead you to believe it is thyroid.

There are lots of things that can cause lowered body temperature that are not thyroid related. Hypoglycemia, for example, because the cells run out of glucose and have to cut back on ATP production. Poor circulation from heart disease or coagulation problems, which reduces the amount of energy that can get to the cells through the circulation, is another. Diabetes and insulin resistance can also cause lowered body temperature. A mitochondrial disorder (inherited, or from toxicity or cellular infections) can also cause lowered body temperature. Incidentally, the toxins produced by candida could potentially cause mitochondrial damage, leading to lowered temperature.

What's concerning is that there is a fad diagnosis of Wilson's Syndrome that seems to be gaining in popularity, for anyone with low body temperature, and they are being given thyroid hormone supplements, even with normal thyroid tests. And if they actually have another problem causing the lowered body temperatures, taking the thyroid supplement will "whip" their cells into producing more ATP, raising their body temperature, giving the illusion of alleviating their symptoms, but the over-stimulation in the long term can eventually cause cell death. They'll begin to have organ failures, brain damage, or bring on other diseases in the long term.
